Solo Tabletop Studio

Shelf Space Planner

Estimate how many boxes, zines, notebooks, and active kits fit in real shelf space.

Compact game shelf with zines, notebooks, dice bags, small boxes, labels, and a measuring tape.

Storage should protect play, not become a fantasy collection plan.

This planner turns shelf measurements into a rough capacity check with a growth margin.

Use Shelf Space Planner as a planning checkpoint for Solo Tabletop Studio. The form is intentionally paired with assumptions, limits, and related reading so the result stays tied to a real decision instead of becoming a standalone score.

Result

Adjust the fields to calculate a result.

How to use this tool

  1. Measure the usable shelf width, height, and depth.
  2. Enter a realistic average box width, then choose a growth margin.
  3. Use the result before buying storage or another large game.

What the result means

The estimate is rough because box shapes, vertical storage, inserts, zines, and active campaign bins vary.

Leave empty space on purpose if setup friction or visual clutter makes you avoid playing.

Assumptions and limitations

The calculator uses inches and a simple side-by-side capacity estimate.

It does not account for weight limits, wall anchoring, humidity, sunlight, or archival storage needs.
