Practice Logs

What to log, what to leave out, and how to keep home practice notes useful and private.

Supportive home speech practice setup with cue cards, notebook, timer, microphone, and communication cards.

A practice log should make the next session easier. It should not become a sensitive medical record stored casually in a browser.

Useful notes

  • Date or general timing.
  • Target area or word set.
  • Cue that helped.
  • Energy level.
  • One next practice idea.

Leave out

  • Names, birth dates, diagnoses, school names, addresses, and detailed medical history.
  • Raw audio unless a qualified professional has given clear consent, storage, and privacy guidance.
  • Any note you would not want sitting in browser localStorage.

Speech Genie stores local practice sessions and lets you export or delete them. Treat the export as a personal note file, not a clinical report.
