Speech Genie starts with a practice check
What it is
A practice and reflection companion. You say short sample phrases, and Speech Genie notices which words the browser heard clearly and which might enjoy more practice.
What it is not
Not a test, a diagnosis, or a clinical report. Speech recognition is often wrong, especially with kids, accents, and background noise. It cannot tell whether anyone has a speech or language difference.
Privacy
Everything stays in this browser. Audio is never saved or sent anywhere. A caregiver sitting alongside makes practice calmer and more fun.
When to talk to a professional
Speech Genie cannot detect or rule out any condition. Speech-language pathologists and audiologists are the people who can really answer questions about speech, language, voice, fluency, or hearing.
It is reasonable to reach out to a professional whenever a person is hard to understand, frustrated when communicating, losing words or skills they had, in pain when speaking, or having any trouble with feeding or swallowing. Feeding and swallowing concerns belong with professional care only.
Helpful starting points: the Speech Pathology guidebooks and the speech therapy home-practice hub.

Personalized practice
This is a local practice reflection built from browser speech recognition, which is often wrong. It is not a clinical report, and it cannot detect or rule out any condition.

Your data
Everything lives in this browser only. Exports are practice logs, not clinical reports.
Practice counts describe what was practiced. They are not a measurement of speech progress.
